Ghost Imprints
Electro-etching on brass disks, steel pipes | 12 pieces | 8 cm each | Ocean Networks Canada ArtScience Fellowship, 2025
Ghost Imprints is part of my Ocean Networks Canada ArtScience Fellowship project, exploring the hidden architectures and geochemical patterns of hydrothermal vent systems. This series of brass disks is etched with maps of sulfide and iron deposition, translating scientific data into abstract, temporal forms that reflect the rhythms of deep time. Using electroetching—a process of slow corrosion—the work becomes a meditation on memory: uneven, time-based, and layered.
